Binance Celebrates 7 Years with 200 Million Users and Launches New Campaign
Binance's anniversary highlights Web3's potential growth toward its first billion users.
In a significant milestone for the digital asset industry, Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange globally, marks its seventh anniversary. The exchange, now serving over 200 million users worldwide, is also celebrating this achievement with the launch of its “Be Binance” campaign.
The new campaign is designed to honor and reward Binance's loyal user base, as noted by Rachel Conlan, Binance's chief marketing officer. In a statement shared with Cointelegraph, Conlan expressed gratitude to the users who have been integral to Binance's success. “Through determination, curiosity, and responsibility, we’ve faced challenges and reaped rewards, thanks to our 200 million users. As we journey toward financial freedom, we stay true to our values: humility, kindness, collaboration, and gratitude,” she said.
As the dominant player in the cryptocurrency market, Binance handles a daily trading volume surpassing $25.3 billion. This figure significantly outpaces its closest competitor, Coinbase, which records a daily trading volume of $3.3 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.
The Path to Continued Growth
Despite reaching the 200 million user milestone, Binance sees significant growth potential ahead. Conlan highlighted the importance of education in attracting the next wave of mainstream adopters. “Education and raising awareness are absolutely key. 200 million plus is an impressive number, but both the industry and our user base still have massive potential for growth,” she told Cointelegraph.
Binance’s rapid growth trajectory is evident in its user acquisition statistics. The exchange secured its first 100 million users in five years and doubled that number in just two more years. In the first half of 2024 alone, over 30 million new users joined Binance.
Conlan believes that reaching one billion Web3 users is now a feasible goal. “A few years ago, 200 million users looked like something from a sci-fi movie. Today, onboarding the first billion to Web3 feels like an attainable target, even though we realize that it will still take years of hard work,” she said.
Global Celebrations and Future Focus
The “Be Binance” campaign will engage users across 19 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria, Spain, and Benin. The celebrations will feature a variety of activities, such as in-person meet-ups, virtual events, social media contests, and promotional giveaways.
As part of the campaign, Binance will host several giveaways through its social media and community platforms like Binance Square. Participants can win a share of a $7,000 BNB token prize pool and other merchandise by answering questions and sharing their Binance experiences.
Conlan also emphasized Binance's commitment to educational initiatives. “At Binance, we will keep educating people globally about how digital assets can make their lives better and demonstrate the utility that crypto can drive by innovating and shipping products that people use and value,” she stated.
This anniversary not only marks Binance's past achievements but also sets the stage for its future endeavors, aiming to drive the digital asset industry forward and bring the benefits of blockchain technology to a broader audience.
