Coffeezilla Claims Logan Paul’s Lawsuit Aims to Stifle New Probes
Coffeezilla believes the lawsuit aims to “crush new investigations while taking revenge for the old ones.”
YouTuber Stephen Findeisen, better known as “Coffeezilla,” has responded to Logan Paul’s defamation lawsuit, labeling it as “groundless” and an attempt to stifle further investigations. Logan Paul sued Coffeezilla on July 27 over claims made in videos about Logan Paul’s NFT project, CryptoZoo, accusing him of running a scam. However, Coffeezilla stated he’s being sued for advocating user refunds, not for the original videos.
Logan Paul launched a $2.3 million buyback program for CryptoZoo NFT holders, promising to repurchase the NFTs at their original price, but with the condition that users waive claims against him. Coffeezilla argued this only partially addresses the losses and is a strategy to silence critics. He described the lawsuit as “groundless, meritless, and frivolous,” suggesting Logan Paul’s aim is to prevent new investigations, particularly into his involvement with Liquid Marketplace, recently accused of fraud by Canadian authorities.
“This defamation lawsuit feels frivolous even on the surface. But if you dig deeper, there’s an even more compelling story which I personally believe, where the goal is to crush new investigations while taking revenge for the old ones,” Coffeezilla explained.
Coffeezilla pointed out that Logan Paul’s buyback plan only addresses the NFTs, not making users who purchased Zoo tokens whole. He reiterated that Logan Paul’s intention is to pay back a small part of the losses while fighting off the other victims in court. Coffeezilla emphasized that for the lawsuit to be valid, Logan Paul must have suffered financial losses or reputational damage. The online investigator claims that Logan Paul had already been accused of pump-and-dump schemes before his investigation.
Coffeezilla added that the lawsuit emerged as he was requesting comments from Logan Paul regarding his involvement in the Liquid Marketplace saga. On June 24, the Ontario Securities Commission in Canada accused the marketplace, co-founded by Logan Paul, of being a “multi-layered fraud.”
Coffeezilla concluded, “This defamation lawsuit feels frivolous even on the surface. But if you dig deeper, there’s an even more compelling story which I personally believe, where the goal is to crush new investigations while taking revenge for the old ones.”
